SALT IS SPRINKLED

SALT IS SPRINKLED

St. Matthew 5: 13-14, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again?  It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men." "you are the light of the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."

Salt & Light

What does it mean to be the salt of the earth? It means that we are to flavor the atmosphere.  We are here with the Holy Spirit inside of us, sent to make a difference within our sphere of influence.  When we are salt and light, we are to provide flavor (of God's righteousness and His presence) where there is no flavor, and disperse light in a dark place.  When there is darkness around you, whether you yourself are experiencing a season of darkness, or you are surrounded by nothing but people of darkness (their thoughts, words, and intentions are dark), you are to be the light-giver, the positive influence, the one with faith-filled words, the one who has a distinctive voice, different from the others!

When Salt is Sprinkled

When salt is sprinkled, it is possible that one sprinkle of salt may not be near another kernel of salt and you may stand all alone.  You must get to a place where you can stand alone.  Stand for Jesus Christ, stand for our Father God, and His righteousness, and learn of His ways.  You may not be around another person with His salt inside them wherewith you may be encouraged to stand, or encouraged to do the right thing.  In my own life, I've been challenged to do right, and live life in a way pleasing to God.  And sometimes I've failed miserably, and sometimes I was able to stand firm in the faith.  I prayed to God and asked Him to help me where I was weak.

Tasteless?

Luke 14: 34-35 "Therefore, salt is good, but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? v35 It is useless, either for the soil or the manure pile; it is thrown out.  He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

If you loose your savor, or should I say, if you don't gain some savor, you will be useless for not one, but two reasons.  You wouldn't be good for the soil in the ground, nor even the manure pile, to make some use out of you.  Therefore I encourage you, please seek the Lord that you may gain His presence in your life so you can be an influence in your world.

Regardless of whether you are strong or weak, take your strength from His strength, for you are made perfect or strong in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9). Selah.....
